阿嘉島は
太平洋 東シナ海 沖縄島の南西約15マイルに位置する
ケラマ諸島に属する亜熱帯気候の小さな島。
阿嘉島には豊かな自然と紺碧の海しかありません。
沖縄本島から高速船で約50分、まず最初に誰もが驚くのが
船の停泊する阿嘉港の海の蒼さと、その抜群の透明度。
大型フェリーも停泊する港の海中にはサンゴが生息し
色鮮やかな熱帯魚が泳ぐ港は阿嘉島ならでは。
阿嘉港から高鳴る期待はケラマの海へ。
魚種とサンゴの数では群を抜き
その蒼さから”ケラマ・ブルー”と称されるケラマの海は長年、
多くのダイバーから愛されています。
近年、欧州からのダイバーや旅人も訪れるようになり
ケラマの島々のなかでも密かに注目を集める阿嘉島の魅力は
この島が観光開発に進むことなく、大自然に育まれた
“最後の楽園” だからかも知れません。
